Can Ideas Achieve Societal Change?

We've all been there...the road is being dug up, there are temporary traffic lights on and it's the only route to school or work. There have been unforeseen problems and they are going to be there for another six weeks  Why is it taking so long?

The impact on society when something goes wrong, is 29 times greater than it is normally. But what if we could solve these, and problems like it, more innovatively by working together, using geospatial technology and sharing information?

It was this type of solution that was being explored at the NWG Festival run by Northumbrian Water last week but can ideas achieve societal change?
